Dating Diary

Section 1

Gavin arrives in my forest, bringing a cake for me like always. Thinking back to when he first came to my forest, I can't help but sigh. When I bring up the matter of succeeding to the throne again, Gavin still seems averse.

Section 2

But to my surprise, this time Gavin suddenly says he's willing to take the throne. However, thinking of the future, he wants to collect various treasures recorded in an ancient tome before ascending to the throne, and get a powerful divine spirit to become his new divine protector. As his current protector, I set out on this journey with Gavin.

In the land of the pixies, Gavin flies me up to the top of the World Tree to get a legendary crystal druse. When Gavin makes a bracelet for me out of some smaller crystals, the fun-loving pixies rush up to wish us well...

Section 3

To obtain the next treasure -- a pure gold belt forged by the dwarves -- we came to the land of the dwarves. At a lively market fair, a dwarf loses in a drinking contest to Gavin. But apparently made bold by drink, the dwarf hand-crafts a weapon for his crush and proposes marriage to her.

Gavin is also taken to the fireside by the dwarves and urged to make his own weapon. For some reason, I see a vision of him giving a scepter that he made to me...

Section 4

The journey is finished. The treasures are all gathered. Gavin and I return to my little courtyard. Seeing all the myriad treasures laid out before us, and thinking about how Gavin would go find a new divine protector -- and even seek out a maiden to be his queen -- I felt a pang in my heart.

But Gavin did not depart from my courtyard. Instead, he placed all the treasures we'd collected before me, then told me his true aim in undertaking this journey...
