Unlocked after completing Chapter 5-3 in the Main Story. Ascend is another way to strengthen Karma by unlocking additional attribute stats, Karma Frame, Skill, Clothing and Voice. Requires C general sand5 big.png Memory Stardust and a minimum Karma level.

First unlocking Ascend gives an initial boost to all Attribute stats, it's a hidden bonus.

Karma Frame

Karma Frames are unlockable decorations that appear on the edges of the Karma card. They will sparkle and obtain a deeper color.

Skill Node

The Karma Skill is a node in the middle of the Ascension path.
Once a Skill node is unlocked, it will randomly assign the Karma a Skill.
An example skill may be something like: Decision +1.6%, +24% Decision Pts (15% Chance During Shoot).

The best Skills are the ones granting permanently a +10% Stat boost of the Epic Category - since the percentage based boost will be far higher later, as you progress through the Ascension Tree, than the one granting a fixed Stat boost.

The Skills which have the 15% chance of triggering During Shoot - are somewhat useless in the Box Office Contest and 24hr Challenge, since you can't retry indefinitely for them to trigger. They're better suited for clearing Normal or Epic Missions, Footage and Heart Trial for the first time.

A player can retry for a different skill for 25 C general sand5 big.png Memory Stardust. After each retry you can choose to either keep the current one or take the randomly generated skill. Should you choose not to take the generated skill, the Memory Stardust is still consumed. The drop rates for retrying skills are as follows:

Is the fixed Boost EVER better than the Percentage Boost?

Let's take for Example: Kiro: Dazzling Thoughts
Max Stat is Execution: 5.208

Let's look at the very beginning, assuming you reach the Skill node directly without doing any Side branches.
The Ascension Boost is: see also: Node Breakdown

Total:
5.208 + 1685 => 6.893

Calculation for the 15% Chance Skills:

(Fixed Epic)20% of 7.103 (6.893 + (145 + 45% from Evolve = 210)) => +1.421
=> Fixed Boost sucks

Calculation for the permanent Epic Skills:

Node Breakdown

After unlocking Ascend, there is a Main Path with Nodes to unlock, you can't skip those nodes. Each Node unlocks additional attribute stats. You can also obtain Time Coupon, Karma Frame, Skill, Clothing, Background or Voice.

Each difficulty has an optional Side-Branch which unlocks additional attribute stats. The amount of materials and the stat boost is dependent on Karma Rarity. The <Attribute Stat> Item depends on the current Node color and branch difficulty.

Absolutely Ascended Karma (AA Karma)

As soon as all Nodes (including all Side-Branches) are unlocked, the Karma Label on the top left corner will change. The new icon depends on the type of Karma excluding Anniversary R Karma which will have no change.

Ascension Reset

You are able to reset your ascension progress of your Karma by spending a fixed amount of Gems. Resetting removes the gained attribute stats, all training materials such as books will be returned.
